About us

The EA Foundation was established in 2021 by the co-founders of Energy Aspects, a data & intelligence company headquartered in the UK. It is an independent charitable foundation registered in England and Wales (charity number 1194169).

The EA Foundation has been set up to improve the lives of disadvantaged communities around the world, with a particular focus on improving access to education and basic services, relieving poverty and promoting environmentally sustainable development.

Our goal is to achieve a tangible and lasting positive impact on the world by engaging respectfully with innovative partner organisations and local communities.

To date, the EA Foundation has received over £5 million of donations, which it will distribute over the coming years. Visit the success stories and funded projects pages to learn more about the projects we support.

Our Causes

Within our four broad funding priorities (education, basic services, poverty relief and sustainable development) we aim to identify and support projects and organisations that can have the greatest positive impact. Our approach is continually evolving based on what we learn from our existing activities and evidence-based research.

We generally favour projects that will deliver benefits under two or more of our funding priorities in an integrated way, particularly in terms of embracing environmentally sustainable approaches given the scale of the climate change crisis.

Sustainable Development

Projects that address environmental challenges by reducing emissions, protecting biodiversity or mitigating the impacts of climate change.

Basic Services

Projects that increase the availability of basic services such as water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) to improve health outcomes and living standards.

Poverty Relief

Projects that offer pathways out of poverty for individuals and families, particularly those from marginalised groups, or seek to address the underlying causes of poverty.

Education

Projects that improve access to and the quality of education for children and young people in deprived communities to enable them to reach their full potential.
