We are pleased to be funding a project to support beekeepers and farmers in the Aleppo region of Syria, an area heavily impacted by the long-running civil war.
Work started in early April to provide training and equipment to rehabilitate beekeeping activities and empower the local community. In addition to the direct economic benefits to the beekeepers and their families, this should indirectly benefit thousands of farmers and biodiversity in the region.
The project is being led by Mercy Hands Europe in partnership with IACO and aligns to our poverty relief and sustainable development funding priorities.
